Signs it’s time to call a pro

Most problems give you warning signs — catch one early and you often avoid a bigger repair.

No heat or lukewarm radiators

Cold radiators or baseboards usually point to a failed circulator, stuck zone valve, or a boiler that isn't firing.

Pressure or water dripping at the boiler

Low gauge pressure or water pooling under the unit signals a leak, a bad relief valve, or a failing expansion tank.

Banging, gurgling, or short-cycling

Kettling noise and a boiler that turns on and off fast often means scale, trapped air, or a control that needs service.

Our work, done right

What’s included in our service

Every boiler repair starts with a full diagnosis — we test the ignition or burner, aquastat and controls, circulator pump, zone valves, expansion tank, and relief valve to pinpoint the actual fault. From there we handle the common failures we see all winter: no-heat lockouts, leaking unions and valves, low water pressure, stuck zone valves, bad thermocouples, and short-cycling. We work on gas, oil, and propane boilers, restore correct pressure, bleed the lines, and confirm every zone is heating before we leave.

How to decide

Repair or replace? How to decide

If your boiler is over 15–20 years old and you’re calling for repairs every winter, repair becomes throwing good money after bad. We’ll tell you straight whether a part swap gets you back to dependable heat or whether a cracked heat exchanger, chronic leaks, or a corroded boiler block make replacement the smarter long-term spend — and we’ll show you why.

Straight talk on price

What does it cost?

Boiler repair is flat-rate and quoted up front after diagnosis — never by the hour, so you know the price before we turn a wrench. Estimates are free, and for full boiler replacements financing through Acorn Finance is available so a no-heat emergency doesn’t have to wait.

Local know-how

Boiler Repair in the Capital Region

Capital Region winters are hard on heating systems, and our older housing stock — in Albany, Troy, Schenectady, and the river towns — still runs plenty of aging cast-iron and oil-fired boilers. We service the gas, oil, and propane systems common from Saratoga and Clifton Park down to Delmar, East Greenbush, Hudson, and Nassau, including homes off the gas main that heat with oil or propane.

Good to know

Boiler Repair questions, answered

The things Capital Region homeowners ask us most about repair, replacement and cost.

We quote flat-rate after a quick diagnosis — free estimate, upfront pricing, no surprises by the hour.

Yes — Mon–Fri 7:30 AM–6:00 PM we prioritize same-day no-heat calls across the Capital Region.

Yes — we repair gas, oil, and propane boilers, including the older systems common in our region.

Call us if you’ve lost heat or hot water, see water or rust pooling around the unit, hear banging or rumbling “kettling” sounds, notice the pressure gauge keeps dropping, or get an error code on the display. In our hard-water area, mineral scale is a common cause of those noises, and catching it early keeps a small fix from becoming a no-heat emergency.

We’ll give you a straight recommendation based on the boiler’s age, the cost of the repair, and how reliable it’s been — a one-off part on a well-maintained unit is usually worth fixing, while an older boiler with repeated failures often isn’t. You’ll get the honest math up front so you can decide for yourself, with no pressure either way.
