Nassau · Same-Day Service · Booking Now
High-efficiency oil, propane, and gas heating for Nassau homes — locally licensed since 2006, with same-day service Monday through Friday across Rensselaer County.
Local heating, done right
Nassau heats differently than most of the Capital Region. Out here in the Town of Nassau, natural gas barely exists — only about 1.5% of homes burn utility gas, because there’s no gas main running down most streets. What actually keeps these homes warm is heating oil and propane: more than half of Nassau households (about 51%) run on fuel oil, and another quarter heat with bottled or tank propane. That’s the market we’re built for, and it’s why our flagship work here is high-efficiency oil and propane furnace and boiler replacement.
It’s also an old town. Roughly a third of Nassau’s homes were built before 1940 and nearly half predate 1960 — the Village of Nassau, Nassau Lake, East Nassau, and hamlets like Hoags Corners and Brainard are full of houses on their second or third boiler. When an aging oil boiler or furnace finally gives out in the middle of a long Rensselaer County winter, we replace it with a properly sized, high-efficiency oil or propane system — Bryant and Carrier oil furnaces, Navien, IBC, and Laars-class boilers — sized to the house, not to a sticker price.
In the rare pockets of town where a natural-gas main actually reaches a property, we also do oil-to-gas conversions — swapping an old oil burner for a high-efficiency gas furnace or boiler and the fuel savings that come with it. But across most of Nassau there’s no gas main to convert to, so we focus on getting you the most efficient oil or propane system money can buy. We’ve been licensed and working in homes like these since 2006.

Pre-1940 farmhouse outside the Village of Nassau running an oversized, 35-year-old oil boiler that was burning fuel and barely holding temperature in January. We replaced it with a properly sized high-efficiency oil boiler, re-zoned the old radiator loops so the bedrooms and main floor heated independently, and cut the home’s oil consumption while finally evening out the heat.

Propane-heated home near Hoags Corners whose furnace was short-cycling and tripping out on the coldest mornings. We swapped the failing unit for a high-efficiency LP propane furnace sized to the house, set up the tank-to-appliance line and regulator correctly, and verified steady output before leaving so the owner wasn’t chasing no-heat calls through the rest of winter.

Nassau Lake property in one of the rare spots a natural-gas main actually reaches — the owner was tired of oil deliveries. We ran the oil-to-gas conversion numbers, then installed a high-efficiency gas furnace, removed the old oil burner, and gave them a single, lower-maintenance heating system with real fuel savings.

Oil-fired warm-air furnace in East Nassau, just off Route 20, that locked out on a single-digit morning and left the family with no heat. We traced it to a plugged nozzle and a failing cad-cell flame sensor, replaced the nozzle, oil filter, and cad cell, and cleaned out the burner. Before leaving we ran a combustion test to confirm it was firing safely and efficiently again.

Good to know
Only if a natural-gas main actually reaches your property — and in Nassau most streets don’t have one. About 1.5% of homes in town are on utility gas, so for the small number of properties a main reaches, we’ll run the oil-to-gas conversion numbers and install a high-efficiency gas furnace or boiler. For the rest of Nassau, the smart upgrade is a high-efficiency oil or propane system. We’ll tell you straight which one your address qualifies for during the free estimate.
On Nassau’s older homes — a third of the town predates 1940 — we see a lot of original-era oil and propane boilers feeding radiator and baseboard loops. If yours is 30-plus years old, leaking, or struggling to hold temperature through a cold January, replacement with a high-efficiency oil or propane boiler usually pays for itself in fuel savings and reliability. We focus on high-efficiency gas, oil, and propane systems, and we’ll size the right one to your house rather than just selling you the biggest unit.
Yes — Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, we prioritize same-day no-heat calls across Nassau and the rest of Rensselaer County. We’re not a 24-hour overnight outfit, but we do offer after-hours response, and during business hours we move fast when an oil or propane system quits in the cold. Call (518) 482-4205 to get on the schedule. Financing is available through Acorn Finance on furnace and boiler replacements.
Yes, and fall is the right time to do it, before the first hard freeze. On oil and propane systems especially, an annual cleaning and combustion check is where we catch the small stuff, a dirty nozzle, a weak igniter, a fouled burner, before it turns into a no-heat call on the coldest night. We clean and test the unit, check the safeties, and tell you honestly what is holding up and what is not.
Yes. A lot of older Nassau homes run on baseboard or radiators and have no ducts, and a ductless mini-split heat pump is a clean way to add efficient heating, and cooling, to a room or a whole floor without tearing the house apart. We size it to the space and mount the indoor heads and the outdoor unit. It can run alongside your existing heat, so you are not leaning on one system alone through the winter.
Across the area
We also heat homes just beyond Nassau — including East Nassau and Nassau Lake within the town, plus East Greenbush and Troy elsewhere in Rensselaer County.
